28 May Ancona joins the ITN network: the new Radiotaxi Ancona connects with Taxi Move
A new member has joined the Italian Taxi Network (ITN), which also includes Taxi Move: Radiotaxi Ancona, a newly established taxi cooperative bringing together 21 licensed taxi drivers, representing around 70% of the city’s taxi operators.
The Ancona drivers have chosen to join forces with Cotabo Bologna, one of Italy’s leading taxi cooperatives, which has recently driven similar aggregation and innovation projects in other cities, including Matera and Aosta.
The aim of the new Radiotaxi is to provide a more modern, efficient and technologically advanced service while maintaining full local autonomy in managing taxi operations.
Thanks to its entry into the ITN network, passengers in Ancona can now use the bTaxi app, just as they can in all the other cities connected to the national network, including those served by Taxi Move. The interconnection between taxi dispatch centres allows customers to use the same app across numerous Italian and European cities that are part of the Italian Taxi Network and Taxi Force. Today, the Taxi Force network connects more than 32,000 taxi drivers operating in approximately 200 cities across Italy, Spain and Portugal.
The Ancona initiative also represents an important cultural shift within the taxi sector: moving from fragmentation to cooperation, with the goal of strengthening the public taxi service through shared tools, technological innovation and increasingly integrated national networks.
